Diffusion camera filters

Special effect camera filters are available in a variety of grades which can be used in both colour and black-and-white imaging. These camera filters have no standard filter factors but require exposure compensation depending on the requirements. Filters that lower contrasts and flare in two or more different lighting conditions may produce different effects. Diffusion requirements also vary with these filters in different conditions. Smaller films to larger films, colour films to black and white films, the diffusion requirements vary to survive the colour transition.
Diffusion Filters:
Different techniques have been developed to get a diffused image format. Stronger diffusion filters blur the picture. In subtle forms the diffusion camera filters can change the appearance of the wrinkles from the face. For better optical effects the phenomena involves bending of light to some degree from the original path. The earlier portrait diffusion camera filters that are still in use have net finish. The fine net that are stretched across the lens enables to make the face appear very youthful and flawless. Selective diffusion camera filters are also available. They can make minor changes on the image, such as wrinkles, spots, scars, etc. The clear space in the fine mesh transmits the light unchanged yet preserving the overall sharp appearance of the image. The diffusion effect is produced by the refraction of light that strikes the edges of the fine mesh lines. The finer the mesh more the image area covered by mesh lines and the greater the photo. These diffusion camera filters can be of immense use to portrait photographers.
